Happy February to all of you! As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, it’s time to get out on the water!

Our first event of the year was in Newport Beach. Four boats participated in our Nautical New Year OTW event. Thanks to all of you who helped make this event a success!

I’m happy to announce that we will be having our next OTW event in Dana Point! It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to have an OTW event down south, and we have four boats committed so far. Thank you so much to the boat owners who have stepped up and offered to host!

Mark your calendars for these upcoming 2025 OTW events:

3/16 - St. Paddy’s Day - Alamitos Bay

4/13 - Spring Fling (location TBD)

5/18 - Tropical Luau Duffy Cruise - Newport Beach

6/21 - Summer SAILstice (location TBD)

7/24-7/27 - Annual Trip to Catalina - Two Harbors

We extend our most profound appreciation to our incredibly dedicated boat owner
members who selflessly share their cherished boats and valuable time, thereby
transforming OTW into the most anticipated experience within WSA-OC.

WSA-OC’s final Philanthropy event of 2024, the silent auction at the December annual party enabled us to give $1,500 to three partner organizations.
Thank you to all the members who donated items and volunteered time.

WSA-OC will kick off 2025 Philanthropy events with a booth at the Dana Point Harbor Festival of the Whales on March 8 and 9. Volunteers may sign up at the February 12 meeting to work the booth on Saturday and Sunday, March 8 and 9

In the past years, the WSA-OC booth has been a popular attraction. The Festival of the Whales is an excellent opportunity to present our club’s goals and programs and to sign up new members while enjoying a community event at the harbor. WSA-OC’s Membership team will assist.

More information will be made available after festival organizers finalize details. This year’s festival will see some changes due to ongoing construction during the harbor’s remodel. Changes include the elimination of the parade and the debut of a carnival. For information and a schedule of events, see www.festivalofwhales.com.
